Friday, February 25, 2022.
Under the supervision of Mara Montanaro.

Francesco Urbano Ragazzi is a curatorial duo founded in Paris in 2008. Since 2017, they have directed The Church of Chiara Fumai, for which they coordinated the cataloguing of the artist’s archives and their donation to the CRRI – Research Center at Castello di Rivoli. In 2015, they founded The Internet Saga, a traveling project presented in institutional art spaces and venues such as the Bucharest Biennale and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). Among their recent projects are Kenneth Goldsmith’s exhibition Hillary: The Hillary Clinton Emails at the 2019 Venice Biennale, and Jonas Mekas: It All Came Back to Me in Brief Glimpses at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul, in 2018. In 2022, Francesco Urbano Ragazzi will curate the 17th edition of LIAF – Lofoten International Art Festival in Norway.

This talk will reflect on their curatorial philosophy and practice, their vision of contemporary art, and the role and function of biennials in the XXI century.
